With the complexity of the conveyor system, the belt conveyor needs to meet the demands of various terrain materials. Inclined transportation is a more common transportation scenario of the conveying system, which mainly includes two types of inclined conveying and declined conveying. When the inclined conveyor is running at full load, the downward thrust caused by the gravity of the material is large, and it is easy to cause accidents such as "reverse" of the inlcined conveyor and "speeding" of the lower conveyor. The two types of conveying equipment require different safety protection devices.
The "reversal" of a tilt-up transport conveyor is a reverse-reversal accident caused by an inability to effectively brake when a power failure occurs during a full-load transport of a conveyor that is transported upward. For the inclined conveyor belt conveyor, anti-reverse device and braking device must be provided. The normal distance inclined conveyor is mainly used as stacking conveyor.
The declined conveyor is a conveyor that tilts downwards. During constant speed operation, the motor generator is used to control the speed. When the power is off, the conveyor loses power. If there is no effective deceleration braking method, it will cause a serious accident of "speeding" occurred on the conveyor due to the high speed of the conveyor belt.
We must install reliable brake protection devices for the declined conveyors. Several types of brake protection devices are currently used on declined belt conveyors.

The flying belt protection device is used on a declined belt conveyor. Its role is to catch the conveyor belt in time to prevent flying belt accidents when the declined conveyor is out of control or the conveyor belt and roller slip after braking. The hydraulic flying belt catcher is mainly composed of a hydraulic system, a drum and a rubber wheel.
The flying belt catcher is controlled by hydraulic pressure. When the belt speed exceeds the rated value, the control system opens the oil circuit valve. The rubber roller drives the hydraulic pump to discharge oil through the pipeline to the hydraulic cylinder. When it moves downward, the cylinder and the roller are connected to push the drum downward. The rubber roller is fixed, and the conveyor belt is pressed between the roller and the rubber roller. This increases the running resistance of the conveyor belt, reduces the belt speed, and prevents the occurrence of conveyor belt overspeed and flying belt accidents. When the speed of the conveyor belt drops to the rated speed, the control system closes the oil circuit valve. Under the action of the spring, the roller is lifted up, and the conveyor belt is restored from the compressed and deformed state to a free linear state.
